Mr. Cochran has experience in complex business disputes and intellectual property litigation in state and federal court. He has prosecuted and defended cases involving claims for breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, trademark infringement, copyright infringement, unfair competition, securities and common law fraud, and other business related torts. He has represented clients in mediations, arbitration proceedings, and trial.
Mr. Cochran currently serves as an arbitrator for the San Diego County Bar Association's fee dispute arbitration program. He also serves as a public arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
Prior to joining Fitzgerald Knaier LLP, Mr. Cochran practiced with the San Diego law firm of Luce Forward Hamilton & Scripps LLP where he defended clients in complex civil litigation matters. In addition, he served as a judicial extern to United States Magistrate Judge William McCurine, Jr. of the Southern District of California. Mr. Cochran is admitted to practice before all courts of the State of California and the United States District Courts for the Southern, Central, Northern, and Eastern Districts of California. Mr. Cochran is also admitted as a Patent Attorney before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Mr. Cochran graduated cum laude from the University of San Diego School of Law. He received his Masters degree in Economics and his Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
